EXPO SE LIGA! 2012
Se Liga! is a series of exhibitions on science, art and human knowledge. There were two editions: in 2005 (at the Casa França Brasil) and in 2012 in an alternative space at the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro over 1000m2 (shopping Nova America).
In the last edition, the exhibition was an unprecedented interactive experience for its vistors of knowledge and culture through an exciting expographic narrative from the emergence of the universe and life, until the present days, questioning the sustainability paradigm.
The quest for the discovery of the unknown is inherent to mankind and has always motivated great artists and scientists. As a recurring research of the M’Baraká studio and UMBARA-LAB, the association between art and science has allowed us to build a third edition, filled with contemporary artists, to be held in 2015 at the “Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil”. Works that reread, question, deride, interconnect, and retro feed themselves or are inspired by science will be highlighted in order to strengthen the strong and historical connection between art and science.
